Sandy out of ICU

We had a prayer service tonight for Sandy and Jeannie (see below if you haven't been onsite here for a bit) -- about 50 or so from all the denominations in the village were there -- says a great deal about Jeannie in particular. She's led a prayer group for over 30 years in Banchory -- always so joyful in Christ, no matter the circumstances. One of the verses she sent along for tonight was typical of her -- Phil. 4 -- Rejoice in the Lord always.

It struck me that you on the West Coast of home are able to pray for Sandy during the watches of the night (2 - 10pm for you) when we are sleeping -- times when the spirit of someone who is physically so helpless is particularly vulnerable, it seems to me, to the temptations to despair and fear. Thanks for remembering to pray for Sandy while we're sleeping.

He's out of ICU and into a high care unit -- still severely debilitated and we're still praying for miracles -- sounds like each day is more encouraging than the prognosis from the day before, however. I expect we've moved from the critical to the long haul recovery now, so I'll post updates less frequently, and good news as soon as it comes!

Love, Laurie
