A quick update as I prepare to walk down to Sunday Night Live Worship. It is 5:20 pm here and PITCH BLACK out -- good-bye British Summer Time (aka Daylight Savings).
I went to Drum Castle today -- here is a photo of the centre piece on a wonderful art deco / arts and crafts sundial in the gardens there. The idea is to stand on the month and mark where the sun hits -- note that there are no months included from October through February. Lets you know something about our daylight hours in those months ...
Has been a fantastic couple of weeks for getting well settled into a balance of study and community here in Banchory -- which means it is a terrible couple of weeks for communication home! But a few highlights -- numerous sunny autumn days, one of which included a walk with Bryonie around a nearby Loch -- note the standing stone and blue sky! 
Worship leading at the East Church these last two weeks in October and first Sunday in November while Mary is on holiday.
(These pictures are actually of the chapel at Drum Castle today. Much smaller than the East Church!) And have started a 6 week spiritual formation Bible Study with post-University students here -- really rich. 
Today's afternoon at Drum Castle for a walk around was with friends Mark and Carolyn and two of their kids, Kelsey and Alex. The gardens there are fantastic even in the late fall.
Carolyn and her family are from New Zealand -- she is completing a thesis on George MacDonald / Systematic Theology. Carolyn has been and is a great prayer partner for me on this journey.

Jeff Stone, Eliot Stone, Dwight Gilmore, Tony Rivera (from Church of the Apostles) and I went up to Northcreek Pres. in Mill Creek to help lead music for a new worship service they are trying to get off the ground. Jeff Keuss invited us. The song you have posted by Dave Crowder is one of my favorite and we did it tonight. It gives me chills (glory bumps!)
Wow, lots of pictures and information in this post. Laurie, your hair is getting so long! I, on the other hand, just got mine chopped really short!
Good to see pics of Carolyn in this post. I miss seeing her in the office. Tell her hello for me when you see/talk to her.
